Research

Research focuses on various themes directly related to the situation in Gabon and the subregion: virology with basic and epidemiological studies focused on retroviruses, hepatitis viruses and hemorrhagic fever viruses, and arboviruses (viruses transmitted by mosquitoes and ticks); parasitology with studies on malaria, filariasis, toxoplasmosis; primatology with experimental studies (virology, immunology, vaccinology, medication) and ethological, ecological and genetics studies in nonhuman primates; haematology (genetics of blood diseases) and health ecology studies (environment, biodiversity).

 

Education

The CIRMF hosts young researchers and students from Africa, Europe and the U.S. who perform research while writing their scientific, medical or veterinary theses and internship reports.

Public Health

The CIRMF supports public health by providing expertise and cutting edge facilities, including the medical analysis laboratory and the epidemiology response team.
